Art Auction Gala to Benefit Planned Arts Center in Berkeley
Donated art works include paintings, prints and sculpture by prominent Bay Area artists such as David Ireland, Arthur Gonzalez, and Lisa Lightman

The Center for Live Art is the future shared home of a group of Bay Area performance companies, arts, organizations and individual artists dedicated to investigating and evolving performance at the intersection of dance, theater and other time-based disciplines. It provides a permanent home for live art in the Bay Area and is under development in Berkeley's new Ashby Arts District with the support of many groups including Temescal Arts Center, Inkboat, Epic Arts, Dancers Group, La Pena, Civic Arts Commission of Berkeley, the S.F. Butoh Festival and more.

The Center is holding an auction and gala event from 7:00p.m. to 11:00p.m. on March 27 at Slingshot Gallery, 1721 63rd St. Donated art works include paintings, prints and sculpture by prominent Bay Area artists such as David Ireland, Arthur Gonzalez, and Lisa Lightman and emerging artists Liz Walsh, Sean MacFarland, David Fought, as well as many others. Live music at the auction will be performed by Merlin Coleman on cello and Isabel Douglas on accordion. A preview reception will be held from 6:00p.m. to 8:30p.m. March 13 at which attendees may place early bids.
