Born in 1943 in the Principality of Monaco a
descendent of 16th century painter Moroni, Adrien was influenced at an early
age by his mother a fashion designer, and by his father, a painter. In this
artistic environment, Adrien was encouraged to pursue his natural gift and
attended the School of Fine Arts in Nice. There he learned the foundation of
his trade; drawing, painting, and sculpture. After moving to Paris and
studying with old French Masters, he received his degree in Fine Arts in
1964.
From 1968, as his audience grew larger along with his various exhibitions,
he obtained a bronze medal for his participation in the “Salon des Seigneurs
de l’ Art,” in Chateauneuf du Pape and a silver medal in Arles. He was
awarded the Grand Prix for Impressionism at the 20th exhibition of the Art
Expo in Nice. Shortly after, he exhibited in Ansoui (Luberon) in the castle
of the Roy Rene.
Adrien opened a gallery and a studio in Saint Paul de Vence near Nice in a
medieval town above the Mediterranean Sea. In this mythical village of Saint
Paul de Vence, art lovers the world over acknowledged his exceptional talent
by adding to their painting and sculpture collections year after year. He
maintained that Studio for over 30 years before moving to the French region
of the Gard near Avignion. It was this region that provided much of the
inspiration for his signature works with the brilliant blue hues of water
and sky depicting the tranquil, romance of the region. He is able to capture
the ambiance of the French Riviera with his masterful use of sweeping broad
strokes and vibrant, luminescent colors, transporting the audience back to
the festive, carefree summer afternoons most cherished in life.
In 1997, the DISEGNI Publishing house dedicated an art book with some of his
paintings, sculptures and sketches for the decade 1987/97. His name appears
in the latest edition of SERMADIRAS, the international art guide for
1998/99, The Chene Vert Editions in 2000 and his signature is indexed in the
book of the Cote des Arts. The results from his past auctions can be found
in reference books such as: Art Price Annual 2001-2003. Arts Actualities
Magazines and L’Univers des Arts present his work on a regular basis in
order to satisfy the everlasting interest of his art lovers.
Adrien’s paintings can be found in private collections around the globe and
in galleries in France and Italy, in addition to this traveling collection
in the US.
